World of Words# 19 “Content IS King!”

If there is one thing I have learned on this journey, it’s this: CONTENT…IS…KING!”.

When you think about it, it's already a challenge to attract an audience, it’s even more of a challenge to keep an audience. And as I am sure we all know, it’s nearly impossible to accomplish any of this without content. For us creators, content is what powers our creative machines.

It doesn’t matter where our creative passion lies, it all comes down to content. We can talk about it, dream about it, tweet about it, Instagram, and Facebook about it, but at the end of the day, our audience will want something tangible. They will demand content. Our words and social media posts may hook them initially, but content is what will keep them coming back.

So, why am I posting about something that should be very obvious to all of us? Well, because I wonder if sometimes we, as artists, forget that we have to keep feeding our audience. We can’t invite someone over, sit them at our dinner table, promise them a great meal, feed them a morsel and then leave them hungry. If we do that, then we can rest assured that our dinner table will be a “table for one” moving forward. This is how we have to look at our artistry and creative output.

Don’t get me wrong, I truly believe in quality over quantity. I don’t believe we should create content just for the sake of creating. It has to mean something. It has to be good, quality content. However, I also believe there must be quantity. Consistent and fulfilling quantity.

We must remember to not allow ourselves to get so caught up in our creative process that we forget about our loyal audience who is waiting for our next great offering. We have to remember that even the most loyal customer will lose patience or even worse, forget about us, if we don’t have something new for them to sink their teeth into on a consistent basis.

So, what can we do about this? Depending on what we are creating, it can take time to create something new for public consumption. But…maybe there are other things we can offer our audience to “tide them over” while we are creating our next great masterpiece. Blog posts, videos, pictures, detailed social media posts, etc. In today’s age of advanced technology, there are all kinds of options available to us to help keep our audience entertained while we are hard at work. It just takes patience, persistence, and out-of-the box creative thinking. I am talking to myself just as much as I talking to any of you.

At the end of the day, we should all remember that “Content IS King!”, because without content, we’ll lose creative energy and momentum as well as our audience. Everything we create, big or small, is a brick that adds to the wall of our overall creative vision.

It’s my goal to ensure Scripted Visions offers all of you a consistent and entertaining flow of content because the last thing I want is to lose any of you as members of the Scripted Visions Family.
